Discover Pars Restaurant

Walking into Pars Restaurant feels like stepping into a familiar neighborhood spot where the pace slows down and the food does the talking. Located at 30005 Orchard Lake Rd, Farmington Hills, MI 48334, United States, this Persian diner-style restaurant has built a loyal following among locals who appreciate consistency, warmth, and deeply rooted culinary traditions. I’ve personally stopped in multiple times over the years, sometimes for a quick lunch between errands and other times for relaxed dinners with family, and the experience has remained reliably satisfying.

The menu leans heavily into classic Persian comfort food, and that’s where this place shines. Dishes like koobideh, barg, and chicken soltani are prepared using time-tested methods rather than shortcuts. The rice, for example, isn’t just a side-it’s a centerpiece. Long-grain basmati is soaked, parboiled, and steamed to achieve that fluffy texture Persian cuisine is known for, often finished with a crisp tahdig at the bottom. According to research published by the International Journal of Gastronomy and Food Science, traditional rice preparation methods like steaming rather than boiling help preserve aroma compounds, which explains why the rice here consistently smells as good as it tastes.

One server once explained how the marinades are prepared early in the day, allowing the meat to absorb flavors from saffron, onion, and spices before hitting the grill. That extra time shows. The beef is tender without falling apart, and the chicken remains juicy even during busy hours. A regular customer I chatted with summed it up perfectly by saying the food tastes like home cooking, and that sentiment comes up often in reviews across multiple platforms.

Beyond the grill items, the menu also includes stews such as ghormeh sabzi and gheimeh, which require slow simmering and careful balance of herbs and acidity. These dishes aren’t rushed, and that patience reflects a broader respect for Persian culinary heritage. Organizations like the Culinary Institute of America have highlighted Middle Eastern cuisine as one of the most technique-driven food traditions, and Pars Restaurant clearly follows those principles rather than adapting flavors for convenience.

The dining room itself is simple and unpretentious. You won’t find trendy décor or loud music, but you will notice families, couples, and solo diners who clearly know what they’re here for. During one visit, I saw a staff member walk a first-time guest through the menu in detail, explaining portion sizes and spice levels, which adds to the trust factor. That kind of transparency matters, especially for guests new to Persian food.

Location-wise, being situated in Farmington Hills makes this spot accessible for both locals and visitors passing through Orchard Lake Road. Parking is straightforward, and the restaurant’s hours are fairly accommodating, which helps explain the steady stream of repeat customers. Online reviews frequently mention consistency, generous portions, and fair pricing, with many people noting they’ve been coming back for years.

It’s worth acknowledging a small limitation: during peak dinner hours, service can slow slightly due to the food being cooked to order. However, most diners see this as a fair trade-off for freshness. As one review put it, good food is worth the wait, and that attitude fits the overall experience here.

From careful ingredient sourcing to traditional cooking processes and attentive service, this restaurant delivers an experience grounded in authenticity rather than trends. The reputation it has built in Farmington Hills isn’t accidental; it’s the result of steady quality, cultural respect, and a genuine connection with the community through food, conversation, and shared meals.

  • Our first time here and we will DEFINITELY be back! Our server, Esmeralda was so sweet and attentive. I order the chicken tenderloin kabob and my husband got the koubiddeh, both reasonably portioned and both entrees come with soup as well. The decor inside was so pretty! We will be back soon! Everything was perfect. Thank you Esmeralda!

  • Tried ash reshteh, maust-o-moosir, salad Shirazi, koubideh combo, and lamb shank. All were very flavorful. Chicken koubideh was my least favorite. Service was friendly and attentive. Atmosphere was quiet (we arrived just as they opened on Sunday). Overall, enjoyable and not too expensive. We got quite a bit of food. Oh, and the fresh bread was greet.

  • Lovely atmosphere, wide choice of both Persian and American cuisine. Safe group choice, food for every taste. Large portions, great price. Sat & Sun 2 to 8pm, Buffet Kids 2 & under free Kids 3 to 10 half price Fresh bread served as complementary appetizer with butter. Burgers, veggie burger, kabobs, onion rings, fesenjoon (walnut casserole). The barley soup is amazing. Gyro, different salads, yum The onion rings weren’t greasy, yet crisp. Suggest tartar sauce if they have it available. The water served with the meal is very nice. A WONDERFUL experience. Great food. Room for a work outing, party, monthly club get together…
